Trees In Art


I hope you can tell by this photo why this is one of my favorite places to sit and meditate down at the Chattahoochee River, about fifteen minutes from where I live. This tree has been the subject for a number of my paintings and I suppose that this photo will be rendered in paint very soon.

Can you see that one root in the foreground? That is the only root keeping this tree alive, and has been for many years. You can literally see the river through the trunk at the base of this tree. It's just an amazing example of sheer "will to survive".
