This magnificent southern live oak down at the Chattahoochee River, graced all who passed by for many years.  During its latter years, I've had the privilege of capturing its beauty on canvas.  Several years ago, the parks department had this aging tree cut down.  I used to sit on the bench underneath its canopy and watch the river swiftly flow by.  I miss this graceful oak.  I'm so glad I have the photos to refer to whenever I feel the urge to paint this poignant memory.

I do love my aspen trees!  Many of my collectors here in Atlanta travel to Colorado to ski and they love being reminded of the beauty of the quaking aspens.

My 8"10".5" oil palette knife and brush painting, "Relinquished", has richly textured trees, revealing their "bone structure" against the value tones of winter. The title suggests the place in life where we relinquish ourselves and open up our hearts and minds to fresh inspiration and new possibilities.

I love aspens in winter. Their beautiful white trunks and dark branches mingle with the dark shadows cast upon the white snow, creating a profound beauty that is best experienced in silence. - Jill Saur

Although I live just outside Atlanta,  I take yearly trips to Colorado to take photos for subject matter to paint.  Many of my clients who live in Atlanta love Colorado too and are thrilled to own artwork that reminds them of that beautiful state!

Inspired by Yellowstone National Park and the hydrothermal pools scattered about its interior, I painted, "Abstracted Daydream".

Working solely with my palette knife, I created this 16"x20" textured acrylic painting.  I had a lot of fun with this one.  Yellowstone is a National treasure!
